Will a 98 dodge pcm 5.2 work in a 97dodge ram pcm 5.9?

i got a pcm out of a 98 durango with a 5.2 my truck is a 97 dodge ram 5.9 i put it in all it does is starts then dies after 2 seconds do i need a 97 pcm for a 5.9 motor
